Happy Birthday Song for Holly

Not only will Holly and I be married on July 11th, but she will also be able to officially claim Kamdyn as her niece.

Kamdyn was nice enough to call Holly to wish her a happy birthday. Luckily, she got Holly's voicemail so I could save it for everyone to enjoy. Notice her mom started helping her out, but Kamdyn wanted to try it without help. Just click the play button below to listen.

Best fiancee EVER!

I just thought I would briefly share why Matthew won the best fiancee ever award yesterday. To start, he sent my favorite flowers, daisies, to school. This causes all the kids to Ewww and Ahhh, which I pretend to hate, but secretly love. Then he picked out a sundress for me, of course it was orange, and a matching necklace. But to top it all off, he went and picked out a dress for me to wear to the rehearsal dinner. This has been a source of stress and great difficulty for me the last few days, and he ventured into the girly store to pick one out. I could not ask for anything better on my birthday then someone who will go to "the black and white store" for me! I have not been that nice and definitely do not deserve someone as wonderful as Matthew.

Tommy and Debo's Shower

This past Saturday, Matthew and I were given a shower by our friends Tommy and Debo. That's Debo and I before the party really got hopping. It was a blast! The beer flowed like wine, and the wine was everywhere. I thought you might enjoy a few pictures from the evening. Matthew and I are very blessed to have so many wonderful friends. We received beautiful gifts, and I cannot wait to have everyone over to the house to use them. The evening ended with a little trip to the neighborhood fountain, where Debo and I decided it needed to join in the festivities. Needless to say, my neighborhood HOA was not too pleased with our decision. No need to worry though, I am the Vice President! Matthew finally got something off the registry that he registered for...a cocktail shaker! Very appropriate!

The invites

I met with the invitations lady today and finalized everything! We went with some nontraditional choices, but I think they reflect our style. For some reason everything has been happening this week; it is all coming together as planned. Only 80 days to go!

Photo Session

I refuse to be outdone by my future fiancee; I had to post something today too. This afternoon Matthew and I got all dressed up for our engagement photo session, pictures to follow in about two weeks. Our photographer, Mei, took us behind a business complex where there were many photo opportunities. She snapped pictures of Matthew and me by fountains, hanging from trees, and anything else you can imagine. I was even forced to chase him across an old bridge; he ran too fast and I looked like an idiot. Overall though, the session was a blast and we will finally have pictures in outfits that are not orange and purple. It made me VERY excited for the big day when we get to do it all again!

First Post!

Holly and I decided to start a web page so we had a place to put all the wedding details. I can't get Holly to create a post yet, so I'm doing the first one. She wants me to write about our engagement photo session today, but I'll leave that for her. The most exciting part of my day was not the photo session (Holly is yelling at me for writing that), but getting a new grill.


It is a Spirit 310 from Home Depot and I was able to convince them to give me $200 off, so that makes it even better. I didn't get to use it yet, but I hope I'll get to grill something tomorrow. Now that Holly watched me do a post. I hope there will be another one soon from her about the photo session.
