Christmas in July

The other day we headed to Disney Springs to see Santa Clause. He came to Disney for a little break before he got back to making toys. Vera and Lucy were ready to see him and talked a big game about what they were going to ask him when it was our turn. When it was finally our turn to meet him, Lucy panicked it the presence of greatness. After some encouragement they made it onto Santa's lap just fine. Vera even asked him to sign her cast.

Merry Christmas in July!

He signed "love Santa...ho-ho-ho

Then we foolishly attempted a family picture.

This makes me smile

Back to Work

I recently took a teaching position at Vera's school, and as I prepare to go back to work, I am reminded just how lucky I have been to able to stay at home with these sweet girls for the last few years. Trips to Disney, snuggling on the couch, being there for them when they were sick, and so much more. It was my honor and privilege to watch them grow and send them off to school. I sure am going to miss all my time with them, but growing up has to happen I guess. I will always thank God for the time he gave me at home with them. I love you girls!

Enjoying some castle time

Lucy insists on sleeping with Matthew's ridiculous Clemson gnome whenever he goes out of town for work. It is hard as a brickbat, but whatever, she's happy. When he gets home she goes right back to Tutu.

Vera's Cast Does Disney

What do you do when your six and have a cast? You go to Disney and have your favorite characters sign it. And what's better than sympathy from a princess, not much. After being so brave at the doctors office, Vera whispered in my ear,  "I want to go to Disney tonight just me and Daddy". You know what kid, you got it! She was so brave and strong during the x-rays and cast wrapping, I think she earned it. So off they went to Magic Kingdom.

First to sign the cast was Cinderella herself.

I can only imagine what she told Cinderella

Happiness is getting your cast signed by Princess Elena while on a date with your Daddy

Vera also had her cast signed by Leah from the Peter Pan fastpass line, Steph from the monorail station, and a Haunted Mansion maid. Whatever.
Lucy was insanely jealous and asked to go to Disney ass a family the next day. Well, I'm a sucker for family time, so off we went again. Lucy's jealousy over the cast reached a boiling point and she even refused to get in a few pictures. She wanted a cast too, and still thinks I am lying when I tell her they are not fun.

Vera and Rapunzel

As you can clearly see, Lucy was not happy that Tiana was focused on Vera's cast at all.

An attempt at a picture with my girls. And Lucy had to go and stick out her tongue. One day everyone will be looking and smiling,  one day.

Life is good, even with a hot pink cast!

Some Sister Time

Vera and Lucy are really best buddies. There is nobody else they would rather play with. when Elena of Avalor came on, they loved it because it was the first princess to have a little sister as a sidekick. They act out scenes from the cartoon constantly and sing the song "sister time". So when Goose got the little sister dress for her birthday, thank you Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim, we headed to Magic Kingdom to visit with Princess Elena.

Hot as tar standing in 100 degree heat trying to get the fireworks in the background of our picture.

Best friends
And then it was time to meet Princess Elena, the inspiration behind the dresses. She immediately recognized Lucy as her little sister and it made Goose's day!

And of course we had to see our all time favorite princess, Cinderella.

This sums the two of them up perfectly

This is it right here. Life does not get better than Vera being silly and Lucy giggling at it.
