Do You Love Me?

The girls were goofing around this morning in Target, when I caught this little gem on my phone. And so it begins.
"Do you love me Lucy," asked Vera?
"Yesss," Lucy quickly replied.
"Now get your hands off me," Vera snapped.

What's Lucy Like?

It's amazing how grown up Lucy already is even though she won't be two years old for almost another three months. She is extremely smart, very affectionate and fun loving for sure.

She can count to 10, sing her ABCs, and knows her basic colors (we are still working on orange). She gives hugs and kisses randomly and says, "I love you daddy." If Holly is holding Lucy and I get nearby, she'll put her arm around both our necks and say "Group Hug!"

She loves to tease us and will run away when you ask her to do something while giggling the entire time. One night I asked for a hug before bedtime and she ran up to a 4 foot frosty we had in the hall and gave him a hug, giggled and ran to her room.

Here are a few pictures from a birthday party we went to yesterday that gives you an idea of how fun Lucy is to hang out with.

We had fun playing "Where's Lucy" in this fake log at the playground

"Lucy, show me your serious face"

"You're so hilarious dad"

Just pondering life

I'm not sure what this one is

And then, she was off again in a different direction.

We then moved to the slide. She has no fear when it comes to playground equipment and slides. She made me  laugh when she stopped to grab onto the bar before you go down the slide. I kept telling her to do it again so I could take a picture. She  doesn't always agree to be my show pony, but when she does, it is pretty funny

Look at that concentration

A successful dismount

I think she was trying some sort of flip. Unsuccessful, but a good try

She's pretty good at swinging her feet though

We then moved inside for some cake. They had this picture frame set up and some props for the kids to use to make funny faces. Vera has Olaf's nose and Lucy is patiently waiting her turn.

This was Lucy's response to me saying, "Lucy, so something funny"

Then Vera left and the picture frame was all hers.  The star of the show. And yes, she is wearing a crown. She's holding some sort of funny sign, but she insisted on pointing it toward herself so she could see the letters.

Chocolate Eggtravaganza!

Vera had a random Monday off of school, and since it is so close to Easter, we decided to head to the Grand Floridian to check out all the giant Easter eggs. The girls love going to "the fancy hotel" and messing around, and I love seeing the amazing Easter decorations.
Taking in all the Disney eggs. Vera loved that they had her favorite movie, The Great Mouse Detective, on a chocolate egg.
Amazing, right?
Cinderella's carriage was a fan favorite.
The Peter Pan egg was Lucy's favorite, but I'm not 100% sure why. Whatever.
Vera was also a fan of the Beauty and the Beast rose egg.
I'm so over Frozen, but the egg was pretty awesome!
The best I could get out of her was this stinker smirk.
And this cheese face. It was a great morning with the girls.

Palm Sunday

Vera was finally old enough to take part in the palm Sunday processional at church this year. She walked in quietly saying "Hosanna to the King", and I cried tears of delight. It makes me happy that she knows the true meaning of Easter and Palm Sunday. I pray that she always knows the sacrifice that was made for her in Jesus.
Vera and her sweet Sunday school friend walking in with their giant palm leaf.
Giant leaf, giant grin on her face.
After the service we headed to the park to attempt a few mom and daughter shots. We got zero of those, but we got some great sister/girl shots.
Like this little gem here.
My joys
Matthew and his biggest fan.

Giving kisses is nice...
But getting them is far better.
Being silly

Nothing says love like a sister headlock

"What did you say, Mom" questioned Veve?
"That's ridiculous," snickered Lucy.
The "why do we have to take pictures" looks. Love 'em.
My sweet Veve.

My fabulously, ornery, sassy, smiley Lucgoose.
RUN! Lucy is insanely fast, and she can change direction at the drop of a hat. It's terrifying.
"Lucy, go stand by the fountain". And she did.
Not sure what this is, but her side profile makes me giggle.
We can go from sunshine and rainbows...
to the pensive, pouting Vera in ten seconds flat.
Lucy's still running.

It was a great way to kick off Easter week. I am so thankful for these little gals.

Day 4, strawberry fields and sisters forever

Day 4 of our all girl Spring Break Funfest started out with a trip to the strawberry fields. This was not the strawberry picking I remember as a kid with families everywhere, corn mazes, and tractor rides. Not even close. This was in the middle of nowhere Florida. Seriously, if you ever need to hide a body, this would be the place to do it. Despite all this we continued on and drove into the sandy fields. It was just the girls and I, one other sweet family from church I convinced to go with us, and the field workers. We ended up picking ten giant quarts of berries for a grand total of $5. We have berries everywhere now and I love it; it's one of the ten foods Veve will actually eat.
Vera was excited to get started.
Lucy was a little upset that she couldn't hold the container. This resulted in an immediate request for another. She yanked her hair out in anger then refused to let me fix it. She looks like a little orphan straight out of a Dickens' novel
Sweetly walking through the aisles of berries.
She ended up getting about five berries in her basket; however, she did manage to eat about a pint on her own. Her shirt was covered in strawberry juice. Whatever.

Reach, Goose!
She thought about putting it in her container for a brief second but then she ate it instead.
Yummy. Moments before we had to make a mad dash  for Vera to use the more than sketchy worker port-o-potty. Lets just say Vera cried and I did on the inside. I wanted both of us to take a bath in a vat of industrial strength sanitizer.
My strawberry loving gals. Lucy looks a hot mess and I love it.

Discussing their haul. Strawberry picking is better with friends.
After all that work it was off to the park for some playground fun.
They have so much fun together.
Happiness
They hug each other all the time. Correction, they hug each other whenever Vera allows it.
And then it was time for princess dresses and dinner with friends. Lucy remembered to stop and pull a few flowers off the out of town neighbors tree.
My sweet Snow White
Sweet friends pretending to be Anna and Elsa all night.
This is hilarious to me. Vera and her sweet friends twirling and Lucy and her buddy just looking on.
She went right up to him, grabbed him, and planted one right on Mr Tim's cheek. She adores the men of Sycamore Street, and I really think she believes they are hers.
It was a wonderful, super busy fourth day!
