I'm not sure if today was my 1st or 2nd Father's Day since Holly was 3 months pregnant this time last year. Either way, today was a great day.
I started off by sleeping in a little later than normal. I had already told Holly that's what I wanted for Father's Day and she entertained Vera quietly this morning for me. We then went to the later service at church and out to a great lunch where you get to build your own burger. Then when the check came, we discovered my burger was free because they were having a Father's Day special. That made it even better.
After such a large lunch, Holly and I were a little sleepy. Since Vera fell asleep on the ride home, we took her down to the cool basement and we all took a long nap. Do you see a theme building? I love my sleep.
Vera also surprised me by creating a Happy Father's Day slide show of all our pictures together. It was really sweet. I had no idea she was so good with the computer already. I tried to include the video below so you can see it. I got a little teary eyed from the combination of the background song, the pictures and little Vera sitting on my lap as we watched together.
Holly got me some great gifts also. Dress pants for work, boxers (which Vera helped pick out I hear) and some shirts.
It was a great day. Thanks Holly and Vera.

Summertime and the Livin's Easy

It's been a great summer so far, and I have loved being able to stay home with Vera. We're getting ready for the big move in a few weeks, but we still manage to have some fun. Here we are singing and bouncing.

Taking a walk around the neighborhood with mom. We try to do this every night before she goes to sleep. I am so lucky to have a job where I can spend the days with her.

South Carolina Outtakes

Here are a few of the pictures from our trip to South Carolina last week that didn't quite make the cut for the original post; they are still worthy of the blog though. Vera is just giggling' away in her cousin Kamdyn's fluffy pink chair. I think she may have to get this chair in red.

Attempting to have her first martini at Ruthie's.

Just admiring the view of the marsh in the morning.
Don't tell me they don't look alike.
Vera's first encounter with cold beer. No, she didn't get to taste it.
