Lucy's Outtakes

Lucy just males me laugh and I love getting to spend one on one time with her now that Vera's back in school. She is just so sweet and happy, and I love her to pieces!
My Lucgoose just snoozing away with her Minnie Mouse
Finally getting her other top tooth
Watching big sister dance in tap class. Soon enough Vera, soon enough.
And she lost it when I had to tell her she couldn't wear all  the dress-up clothes at once. Only pink milk would help solve this crisis.
Snuggling Normie is now her favorite hobby.
We go for long drives
And take even longer naps. Life is certainly good!

Six Months

The other day marked six months since our sweet nephew Reece went home to Heaven. I still cry all the time, but I am starting to see Reece in my everyday moments. It is in no way the same as hearing his sweet, high pitched voice on the other end of the phone, but until God decides to blow His trumpet, it is what we have been given. Someone told me moments where you know your loved one and Jesus are with you are "God breezes"; wonderful reminders of with whom our hope rests. As longs as I live I will honor and remember Reece, and the Savior in whose death Reece and we live.
"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God" 1 John 3:1
I made a poor choice and let the balloons go under the tree...
That's me using the light bulb changer to push them free. I have to think God let Reece look at this and laugh. I can see him with his arms crossed looking disappointed, and it makes me smile.
I can only imagine what Reece gets to see on the other side of those balloons. We love you forever Reecie.

A New School Year

Today we started a new school year with Vera. She's still going to the amazing preschool at our church, and she couldn't be happier. So important to teach kids about Jesus at a young age, and this school does just that.
She picked out her outfit for today and was beyond excited to go
Hard to believe this was the same little girl that we held in the NICU

Being my silly little Veve
She was a little annoyed that Lucy was in the picture because "Lucy's too little for school". Fair enough. You'll have to wait till next year Lucgoose.
She insisted on walking ahead of us and "doing it by herself". When we picked her up later that morning she said, "School was great, Mom. My teacher is nice, but we're not allowed to share snacks". Sounds like a great first day to me.

A quick picture by the classroom door and she was off like a flash. She never looked back; she loves school and doesn't miss us at all. Sad and wonderful at the same time. Now if we can just get her to smile without looking like a mannequin.
Lucy was a tad bit jealous...
until she realized we got to hang out all morning just the two of us. Hooray for school!

Before Church

I love taking pictures of the girls. I wish they would cooperate a wee bit more, but hey, they're little and can't sit still. So before church we headed out for some pictures before it got hotter than a three dollar pistol.
Vera and Lucy caught in a rare moment...no one is screaming, crying, or running away. FRAME IT!
Thanks for my cute tennis outfit Guga, but Dad thinks I should take up golf instead.

She just wreaks of stinker. Look at that smirk when she was told to stay out of the water
Totally disobeying what I said. Oh well.
The patented Vera eye roll.
Just giggling at her big sister
Best buddies for life
My three favorite people

She looks so happy because she was tossing pennies directly at me and connecting.
Stopping to smell the roses
Lucgoose just picked them instead

barefoot on an old, wood boardwalk. Safety first with my kiddos; we aren't scared of a little splinter.
The stair step picture
"Talk to the hand, Mom"

She can run super fast when I am trying to pick her up
Veve playing tag and chasing Lucy...
Gotcha!
At least she helped her back up after the overly aggressive tag tap.
my favorite thing to do with the girls is a good, old fashion group hug. Makes me smile every time.
13 months going on 21.
I love how she pats my back with her tiny little hand.
Vera got some air.
What a great morning with the family.
