Upward

Another great season of Upward is in the books. Both girls improved so much and had a blast

Here's to hoping that there's more gym time in our future.

Vera all ready for action.

Rodeo Day

The other day we had the famous "rodeo day" off from school. In Florida, we take a day off to celebrate all things cowboy. Only in Florida. We, of course, headed to Magic Kingdom to take in all the fun before the weather gets warm again. We headed to Frontierland in an effort to see a cowboy.

We were feeling patriotic, so we stopped in at the Hall of Presidents. Makes me cry every time. We truly live in the best country in the world.
Me and my girls. One of the few times of the year where we need sweatshirts.

Country Bear hugs

Of course we stopped at the Polynesian on the way home to grab a cupcake and end the day on a sweet sugary note. Time with these two is always a great time.

All A's

Waiting for her name to be called at the assembly.
Ver set a goal to get on the all A honor roll this year. She missed it first quarter with an 89%. But she worked hard and got all As second quarter. Way to go Veve! You make us proud every day!

She proudly, and deservedly, wore her medal all day at school.

Me and my smart little cookie.
Vera and her buddies all super kind, smart young ladies. Here's to tomorrow's leaders.

The Handshake

Sometimes how much they love each other just oozes out in the form of a sister handshake. It makes my heart happy. May you always love each other like this.

Unveiling the handshake for the first time on Christmas Eve

Trying to teach Mickey to do it. I think he did incredibly well for someone who only saw it done once at lightening speed.

Epcot

We re trying our best to raise independent, strong little ladies. Somedays,  when they are stubborn and sassy as all get out, it tests my patience, but I know they are headed for great things. Even when they are tough, I still wouldn't trade them for the world. So glad that God loaned them to me.

My sweet Goose
Veve looking way too old for my liking. When did my tiny 3 lb. baby grow up.

Strong little girl!
Love gives you wings!

Lucy's future album cover
Sassy pants for sure!
The told as to stand super till while this cast member dance around us with a beam of light. The result is pictured here.
Still love doing life with him. He makes me happy every day and still is my favorite person.

The Coat

So we headed to Macy's for Matthew's birthday presents and Vera saw this reversible coat and BEGGED to have it. As her luck would have it, that sucker was on clearance for $20. She used her Piggy bank money and rocked that coat. It definitely fits her personality.
Gold lame Vera

And it reverses to furry leopard!

Literacy Week

I was one of two teachers in charge of literacy week this year, and as such we had to go full out every day. Here are a few of my favorite.

Come as a book character was a huge success.  I almost died from the heat, but being the Elf on the Shelf was worth it.
Vera was Herminoe from Harry Potter and wielded that wand like it was nobody's business.
Lucy was a Purrmaid; she has read the entire series and is eagerly awaiting the new release to arrive in the mail this summer. She was a cute half kitten half mermaid for sure! Sometimes all you really need is a snuggle and a good book.
