Lindyn's Baptsim

The main reason we headed to Georgia was for baby Lindyn's baptism. Uncle Matthew was the official sponsor, but the pastor made me stand in front of the church as one too. His mistake, or fate stepping in? Either way, Lindyn was gladly welcomed into God's family.

Big brother Jackson giving Lindyn a kiss. She looked so tiny in that dress. I love that she wore the same gown as Vera did. It makes cutting my wedding dress extra special since both of them wore it. Maybe someday their kids can wear it too.
Three generations
Guga and Lindyn. That gown is more fabulous then I remembered, and I love it!
The real sponsor
Sleeping soundly after crying through the baptism. To be fair, she only cried when the pastor touched her.
The fake and real sponsor. I had the stomach flu and had been up all night getting sick. Of all the days to not be able to touch a baby.
The whole rowdy gang

Hahooo...Werewolves of Cumming

One day we all decided to head to the Georgia mountains and take all the kids to the pumpkin farm. I love Burt's Farm because there is a lot to do and see. We took Vera there last year, so I guess this makes it a tradition.

And then the werewolves came out. Chubs is number 1!

Love those blue eyes like her Daddy and Mama Lucy
Attempting to get all four of them in the same spot and looking at the camera was futile.

Say what?
This is about the best we could do. Hysterical.
Best buds just hanging out in the pumpkin patch wearing werewolf outfits. No biggie.
Chubs and Matthew. That's right, he has a werewolf costume too.

Getting my kisses as Ve tried to make a break for it.

Welcome to the Elseroad's

After a few days in South Carolina we packed up the rental car and drove to the nut house for some cousin fun. Here are some of the random shots from our time there

The boys got a new swing set and Vera loved swinging on the monkey bars
Vera and Chubs making sure they got every single toy out of the box. Watching them together makes me laugh.
I think Vera likes cars and trucks more then anything. Luke and her would drag these out and follow each other all around the house.
Vera and Jackson goofing around on the swing set. His sound effects and her laugh are priceless.

Uncle Matthew and Jackson doing math homework on the computer.
Vera and Luke giving baby Lindyn hugs. What you can't see is the terrified look on her face
Cousin kisses are the best.

Vera just loved baby Lindyn and would get upset if she wasn't in the room with us or when she cried. Matthew caught her in action one night.
Chef Jackson cutting up some strawberries for ve. Such a good helper
Chubs wearing Vera's new cupcake hat. He didn't mind wearing it, he was mad because I was trying to take it off.
Ve in her new cupcake outfit from Aunt Heidi. Thank you!

Time at the Elseroad's always goes by so fast, partly because there is so much going on,and partly because I know it will end soon.

Clemson with My Daddy

Since we don't get to Clemson as much as we'd like to since we moved to Florida, I thought it would be nice to have Matthew take Vera around the campus. Not only could we take pictures, but I just thought she would have fun running around, and boy was I right.
We started the day off getting kisses from Daddy under the bell. when I asked Matthew what this place was called, he said I don't know. Turns out, it is a bell from the Class of 1939 and recognizes excellence in Clemson professors. It is true, you learn something new everyday, and I no more general,  useless facts then my husband.
Walking towards the library. Matthew swears he spent a lot of time there as a student. I only passed through the library on the way to the bars. Better influence? You can be the judge.

Hmmm, this does look like a great college Daddy.
Not that anyone every thinks Vera looks like me, but this picture seals that deal. Same walk and serious face. I don't think two people could be more alike.

Sitting in fri\ont of the amphitheatre.
And now for the close up...
Just out for a campus stroll
Stopping to smell the roses and/or orange flowers
In front of Matthew's dorm
And then we broke into the stadium and what follows makes my heart happy.
Checking out Howard's Rock. She couldn't understand why it had a giant box over it, and to be honest, neither can I.
All smiles while playing near said rock.

I love the background on this one. Makes you want to run down the hill...wait for it.
This actually reminds me of the closing scene/credits from Little House on the Prairie. Amiright? I think she may look back at this one day and just love that she ran down the hill with her Daddy.
Matthew explaining the hill and everything about Clemson football

Vera and Matthew relaxing and waiting for the game to start...in their minds
She was totally freaked out by this tiger, and to be honest, he was quite menacing.
In between the tigers.
Roar!
One more picture at the rock for good measure.
Then it was off to Tiger Town for her first drink at the bar.
The bartender gave Vera ginger ale and a lemon, and she about went nuts. She never had pop before and it blew her mind.
Chasing her shot with a lemon. Look how proud Matthew looks.
I can only imagine this same sweet, little girl sitting in that chair in nineteen years. Who am I kidding, if she has even an ounce of her mother in her, she'll have a fake id by nineteen.
This bar thing is awesome!
If you listen very carefully, you can almost hear the frat boys chanting  "chug, chug, chug" in the background.
Having a drink with my daddy
One joyous little girl
Bouncer Vera checking Daddy's id. Sadly, we lost said identification shortly after this picture was taken and had to have our neighbor mail us Matthew's passport. The lesson here...never give a girl who's been drinking at Tiger Town any important documents.

I love watching Matthew take Vera around the campus. Who knows, maybe one day she'll be a Clemson Tiger like him.
