Little Bit of This, Little Bot of That.

I found some pictures on my phone that just made me giggle.
Just playing on the ropes with my cowgirl boots on. No biggie.

So sweet in her bed girl bed
Just playing with a giant balloon
Annoyed because I made er stop and show me her princess braids
This is the pose I get when I ask her to stand like a princess
Such a great little lady!

My Day with Lucy

This past Saturday it was my turn to have a day with just Lucy while Matthew and Vera went to a birthday party. I let her decide where we should go, and of course she picked Magic Kingdom. It was freezing out that morning when we got ready, but we braved it all for the sake of fun. We lasted three hours before Lucy said she was cold and needed to come home; I guess she is a true Florida baby after all.
Our first stop of the day was to hang out with Snow White. Lucy was first in line to give her a big, long hug. Snow liked it so much she planted a big kiss on her forehead. That crazy, bright red lipstick stayed on Lucy's head for the remainder of the day.

being silly on main street
Snow White's kiss still front and center
After a few rides, Lucy wanted to go on the teacups. We rode it multiple times. In a row. While spinning fast. It was fun but I now know four times in a row is my limit, but seeing this adorable smile every time was worth it!
She makes me so happy. Lucgoose is kind, sweet, funny, with just a touch of sass and a smidgen ornery, and she is just perfect.

We had a ton of fun just being silly together. I love being her momma!

Sisters

Sometimes, life is just better with your sister around.
Just my two gas swinging in unison.
When did Veve grow up?

Sleeping side by side and hand in hand.

Who Knew They Snapped This?

There were many changes in Disney annual passes this year, and one of them was that you get photopass for free. So when it as time for Vera's pass to get renewed, we finally got to see all the photos I was too cheap to pay for the year before. Here are just a few
The girls with Tink
When did someone snap this? Seriously, I LOVE this.
Lucy was a little unsure of the monsters, but Vera loved them!
Sophia AND Woody returned home on this particular day
Apparently I get really into the parades. How embarrassing for the girls as teenagers

Holy cow they are both smiling with Daisy!
Attempting to be graceful
Even Mickey was making a sleepy face for zonked out Lucy.
Freeze!
With her idol. Just more Disney magic that I didn't know was out there.

Pete the Cat

Vera and Lucy have been obsessed with this book for the last week. I simply have to read it every night. Multiple times. As a result they both can read and sing the book by heart. I love it, especially when they add their own touches to it. This is Ve reading said book.

Mommy Daughter Magic

The other weekend I got to take Vera to Magic Kingdom just the two of us. It was so fun getting to spend quality time with just her. She is so funny and smart, and I love getting to devote my full attention to her once in awhile.
Taking a selfie in front of the castle.
I told her we could eat breakfast there, and she decided on a cinnamon roll at Gaston's Tavern. of course we asked for extra icing so it was ridiculously scrumptious.
Then we headed to Belle's where Vera was cast as Mrs Potts. Hilarious
Vera wanted to see Tiana in her winter outfit, and who am I to say no. So we headed to her gazebo.

Then we headed to The Haunted Mansion where some serious magic was about to go down. Vera was dressed as a HM maid and the girls there just ate it up! One maid, Jordan, took Vera under her wing. Here she is showing Ve how to feed "Elmer". She gave her some invisible sugar cubes and Vera firmly believes he ate them out of her hand and it makes me beyond happy.
And then the maids gave Ve a certificate good for $25 so she could go and get her official Haunted Mansion maid headpiece at the Memeto Mori store. She about came out of her frame and we were both so giddy. We said thank you and boarded our favorite ride. When we got off we were greeted by four HM workers. They decided that they wanted to give Ve her headpiece and went and got one themselves. Here she is receiving her "bat". I teared up.
Ve named him "scary bat" and was over the moon happy. But it didn't end there. They took Vera backstage and asked her to work at the mansion for the morning. I died and Vera for the first time in her life was quiet and in awe.
She go to open the doors and say "Master Gracey welcomes you foolish mortals". Again, I about died. It was fabulous.
Then she was in charge of ushering the guests into the stretching room. Here we are between guests by Master Gracey's fireplace. It's so dark in there you barely notice this if you are an actual guest.
Same place, different photo. I love Disney's attention to detail
Getting ready to open the doors. I was crying at this point. It was just so incredible.
I was so proud of her for loudly greeting everyone and playing her part so well.

Exiting the mansion as the happiest ghost host ever. Vera was happy too.
One final surprise was waiting for her as we went out. She was given her very own bat ring, which is now kept under lock and key in her music box. Don't even try to look at it because she won't let you touch it. "It's too special", whatever.
Before all the hoopla hat the Haunted Mansion happened, I had a surprise of my own for Ve. Had I know, I would have saved this for another day, but who knew. Since our first visit to the park, Vera has asked for a parasol. I always told her she had to be five years old, but I decided to surprise her this day. It takes hours for them to paint these blasted things so it was one of the first things we did after we got there. Her she is picking up her masterpiece. She chose Belle and Rapunzel for her two panels. It turned out really cute and is actually useful since it is a functioning umbrella.
Could this day get any better?
Posing with the Main Street, USA, townsfolk because she had an umbrella too.
Then we headed to the emporium because Vera still had a free $25 gift card to use. The HM cast members told her she could use it to get anything she wanted as long as I agreed that it was for anything SHE wanted. So off we went to let Vera use her special HM gift card. She decided on a Frozen animator play set. I tried to use my influence to get an amazing doll, but her heart was set on this and I did promise a group of strangers that I would let her pick, so there you have it. For the millionth time that day, she was happy as all get out. This was her "ghost face" as we sat down to play with her newly scored toy.
There's the smile.
To end our incredible day together, we ate at the Plaza Restaurant. Our  lunch consisted of french fries, grapes, and a giant chocolate shake; it was glorious and everything I thought a 66% unhealthy lunch could be. The best part was listening to Vera recount her  recent ordeal at the mansion and her nonsense knock knock jokes. Both were fabulous and made me giggle.
Yum
She even let me have a sip, and it was one of the best shakes I've ever had.
Vera spotted Aurora and we just had to stop to tell her about the day. Doesn't she look totally engrossed in what Vera is saying.

What a great day
I sure do love my ghost host!

Giving me her serious maid face.
Oh yeah, we saw Tink too. She was awesome and played the role perfectly.
Just two gals with their hands on their hips. Sassy!

Just us on our way out
I simply adore her
Vera and Lucy have been practicing singing The Mickey Mouse March for days now. She asked if she could borrow my phone to play it for the big cheese. Why not. Here they are marching around the room together as the song played on my phone.
Perfect!

It was the best day ever with Vera, and we're still talking about it. Vera Anne is just so spunky, funny, and all around cool. I love being her mom. It is better than  any Disney day could ever be. I love you the most Vera!
