This past weekend, Matthew surprised me and signed us up for an all day "childbirth preparation" class. Up until this point, I was blissfully unaware of what would happen when we got to the hospital; however, that is no longer the case. If you can remember that video you watched in your Freshman Health class about the miracle of life, dial it up three notches and you'll have the hospital video. Horrifying. Video aside, I must say, I did learn a lot about when to go to the hospital, contractions, and breathing techniques. Matthew got called out by our ancient instructor in front of the entire class for clowning around and breathing into my ear. Hysterical. We had been on the floor learning "birthing positions" and he was trying to lighten the mood. Come December, class or not, we'll be going through it all. I managed to snag Vera's first Christmas ornament this weekend too. My cousin Pam started a tradition when I was younger of always giving me an ornament, and I plan to keep that going for Vera. I attempted to get one with her initial on it, but after three stores, I gave up. I have been told that "V's are not worth keeping in stock because they don't sell". Sorry Vera. I found this awesome sock monkey ornament instead. Since that is her nursery theme I felt it would do the job. All in all it was a fabulous weekend. To the left you can see our diploma from that childbirth class and the ornament.

A Sock Monkey and a Class at the Hospital

Round Two!
We headed back to Clemson for the first all day tailgate. Matthew and I were in charge of all the food, so we spent a few nights before cooking
and getting it all ready to go. Here we are taking a break form all the fun and posing for a possible Christmas card shot? We arrived nice and early at the field, and started our day off with rain. Despite the rain, it turned out to be a lovely day; a little bit overcast, but tolerable in the stadium. Kamdyn took a break from playing in the volleyball sand and snapped one with us. She was such a trooper; she made it through the entire tailgate!After the first quarter shot. Thank goodness for battery powered fans and Potter's giant bag of bottle water!
Carrie and I enjoying the halftime show. Please notice that there was lots of empty space around us. Due to the Clemson margin of victory, some fans decided to head back to the shade of the tailgate early. Now we have two weeks to rest up before our next big weekend!

Tiger Time Again!

Matthew has been patiently waiting all summer for this past weekend. We packed up the car and headed to Clemson to spend some time with good friends and the Clemson Tigers. Here Matthew and I are posing in front of the tailgate.
We had five tents this year instead of the normal two, we must be upgrading in our old age. Here are the ladies of the tailgate, minus Carrie and Allison. Allison was at home with future baby Carter, and Carrie had the good sense to sleep in and come later in the afternoon.
Shannon also got a trailer to haul all our gear around in;
I am still hoping he will paint something ridiculous on the side, like a giant 80s tiger. It was a fabulous morning, and I can't wait for next weekend!
