Let Freedom Ring!

4th of July this year was more low key then last year. It was too hot for baby Lucy and I to be outside, but we sent the rest of the gang downtown for the parade and festivities.
Three generations waiting on the parade to start.
Vera and her buddy Liam watching the parade go by.

Let freedom ring!
Two of my favorite people. It is frightening how much alike they are.

Our attempt at our first family photo. This was the best we could do.

Just the girls sporting all their loot from the parade: necklaces, suckers, and leis. These girls will all start preschool together in the Fall. God bless their future teacher.

"Get out Ruthie!"
While Ruthie, Matthew, and Ve were away, Lucy and I got in some nice red, white, and blue, snuggle time. Here she is on her first 4th of July.
That night we headed back downtown for the block party. Vera was all about the giant inflatables. She even braved the giant slide multiple times. It was a fabulous day with family, celebrating the greatest country on earth and ll our freedoms.
